Bored?

Are you bored at work?  Try wrecking the place.

On the Ordnance Survey for the Isle of Whight, the map maker (Bill) has written his name in the cliffs.  If you are really sad and don’t believe me go to the Get a Map facility on the Ordnance Survey web site and type SZ485766 into the search bar.  In the cliffs just above Blackgang you can see it (1:50,000 scale map).

This begs three questions:

  1. Is such wanton vandalism at work a bad thing?
  2. How do you turn this motivation into something powerful?
  3. Haven’t I got anything better to do with my time?

James Lawther

James Lawther is a middle-aged, middle manager.

To reach this highly elevated position he has worked in numerous industries, from supermarket retailing to tax collecting.  He has had several operational roles, including running the night shift in a frozen pea packing factory and carrying out operational research for a credit card company.

As you can see from his C.V. he has either a wealth of experience or is incapable of holding down a job.  If the latter is true this post isn’t worth a minute of your attention.

Unfortunately, the only way to find out is to read it and decide for yourself.
