It Will Never Catch On

12 July, 2010 by James Lawther Leave a Comment

The video below shows the electric sports car the Tesla

It has a top speed of 125mph and does 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds
Each charge will propel it up to 200 miles and costs £3.50
Unfortunately each car costs £92,000 but no doubt that will fall once they have made more than 10 of them.

The only problem?  After 200 miles it stops and then it takes 16 hours to recharge, which if you are half way down the M1 could be a bit of a problem.

The solution is easy.  Wire every parking space in the country with a plug.  You pull up, drop 50p (well a fiver) in the meter and whilst you are busy shopping or working your pride and joy gets a recharge.

Fundamentally it comes down to infrastructure and capability.  Sooner or later we will run out of oil, and the people who own the infrastructure, be it wires or pipes, will make an awful lot of money.

What infrastructure do you own?  Is it making money for you?

James Lawther is a middle-aged, middle manager.

To reach this highly elevated position he has worked in numerous industries, from supermarket retailing to tax collecting.  He has had several operational roles, including running the night shift in a frozen pea packing factory and carrying out operational research for a credit card company.

As you can see from his C.V. he has either a wealth of experience or is incapable of holding down a job.  If the latter is true this post isn’t worth a minute of your attention.

Unfortunately, the only way to find out is to read it and decide for yourself.
